A confirmation of what happened to Voce

I received this in email this evening.   I’m not sure of the validity but as far as I know it sounds valid considering other details posted on the www.voceclassaction.com website:

=======

Dear Voce client,

We are former executives and employees of Voce Wireless who are deeply concerned about the current state of the company and the impact it has had to the customers.

Please note that we are only e-mailing you out of concern and that your e-mail addresses will not be used for any other purpose.

First things first, to port out of the “Voce Hybrid” network, you should provide the following information to your new provider, if you haven’t already done so:

Carrier name: Voce Wholesale

Bill address: <ADDRESS REMOVED>

Account number: <ACCOUNT NUMBER REMOVED>

PIN (if requested): Not applicable

Please note that the billing address is not the address where you receive your bill, but the address listed above.

We heard from the carrier that the ports are delayed due to volume, but numbers are indeed being released as we speak. Ports can generally take up to 24 hrs even in normal conditions, so please hang in there if they haven’t gone through for you yet.

The “Voce Classic” network (using the old SIMs that start with “8″) is still operational as we understand.

Regarding your billing issues: you should contact your credit card company immediately and request a charge back, as it is rumored that the new owners charged credit cards prospectively for service to be provided in February. The Voce bill cycle officially runs from the 9th ~ 8th of each month, so the charges you have incurred are invalid, considering that network service has been cut off and there does not appear to be an attempt to resurrect it.

Finally, a quick update on what has transpired: Voce was purchased in early January by SunCal Midwest, LLC, represented by Anthony Roselli, Brian Richards and Tom Malanca. The intent of the purchase was for SunCal Midwest to maintain and grow the core Voce business, using its connections with enterprise customers. As of the transaction, the company had working capital and tangible assets on hand, and a list of liabilities that were disclosed and agreed to. The new owners have thus far failed to meet their end of the deal, including paying employees and vendors. All prior executives of Voce have resigned or were shut out by the new owners after the sale. The new CEO/President of Voce is Brian Richards, and should you decide to contact him, his email address is: brian@voce.com

In the meantime, former employees and advisers to the company are reviewing whether or not the matter should be turned over to the appropriate authorities. If you would like further information regarding our efforts, please e-mail this address and we will reach out to you on an individual basis.

We are deeply disappointed and regretful for the inconveniences that you have incurred.

Sincerely,

Ex-Voce team
