Diigo Social Bookmarking

I have used the Diigo Social Bookmarking service since August of 2006.  For some reason, I have not promoted the service.  Why?  I have no idea because it is an excellent service and you should check it out.

In a nutshell, Diigo, allows you to bookmark web pages through a free service. If you are familiar with del.icio.us (or as it is now known - delicious.com)  it is similar in concept.  However, Diigo offers far more bells and whistles including:

  • Markup of pages including public or private highlighting and comments
  • More advanced social networking including groups, facilitation of new “friends”  and presence of “friends”
  • Sharing bookmarks through groups, recommendations and even Twitter
  • Well behaved and intuitive taskbar for adding & sharing information
  • Ability to easily add and share bookmarks to your local bookmarks or another service like del.icio.us, Ma.gnolia or Simpy.
